Here at Great Hill Farm we are proud of producing the purest and wildest honey we can. We use no miticides or antibiotics. We live miles from any agriculture so our bees are minimally exposed to pesticides and monoculture. Instead, we are surrounded by wildlife and wildflowers giving our honey the taste of wild New York! We do not feed our bees processed sugars or other feeds. Instead we take less honey and leave more for the bees so that they can over-winter strong on their own feed source. The result is a more pure, natural honey and a wax free of chemicals and treatments. Our honey is raw. Raw honey has not been heated so the nutrition and beneficial enzymes are not destroyed. Our honey is only slightly strained so it retains its unique scents, pollen, and health benefits. We offer a couple different honies that all come from our bees. We do seasonal harvests resulting in a honey that has flavors of flowers in bloom at different times of the year. We are proud of what we do and are happy to be helping the natural bee population by occasionally donating a swarm to the natural bee population.
